AK Rustic Photography, WC Student’s Self-Made Business, Partners with Everyday Chic

AK Rustic Photography, started by Wilmington College student Amanda Kratzer, partnered with Everyday Chic Boutique in a seasonal photoshoot.

Amanda has studied Business Administration for two years. “I was at WC for a semester before realizing that the class schedule wasn’t feasible as a mom of three kids, wife and starting a business. I still plan to go back to WC in the next year and focus on public relations to better my business.”

Photography was left as a hobby for Amanda as she went to school for business and joined the Marine Corps active duty. It was when others started taking note of her photos and wanted her to take their family photos that she made it into a business.

“After a few senior and couple sessions, I realized that those session sessions were the ones that I got most excited about so I now specialize in them,” shared Amanda.

Last fall, Amanda asked Everyday Chic Boutique to do a live Facebook video with AK Rustic Photography to show off the latest trends. This lead into a contact from Karli Harris, ECB’s owner, to take a shoot of the spring line.

“Of course I jumped at the chance and it went so well that we plan to continue our business relationship through shooting their seasonal trends and ECB will be styling all of my girls for the ‘senior model program’ with an outfit that they can keep and potentially be featured on the ECB site with their stylized/fashion shoot.”

Amanda will continue to expand her business by offering experiences such as this to “ensure that each senior that chooses to take the AKRP experience will feel pampered, stay excited and have a ton of fun throughout their sessions.”

“My business is all about the clients experience and I’m always thinking of creative ways to show them how to make the most of their session while providing fun.” – Amanda Kratzer

Amanda continued, “My business is all about the clients experience and I’m always thinking of creative ways to show them how to make the most of their session while providing fun.”

College students interested in working with AK Rustic Photography are welcome to aid as an assistant during shoots or contact Amanda for guidance if they are interested in a client driven business of their own.

“What I offer to my clients is purely about the experience because that is what is going to set me apart from the other photographers.”
