Circleville hosts annual Pumpkin Show

The Circleville Pumpkin Show is an annual event that occurs throughout the week of October 15, in downtown Circleville, Ohio.

Called the greatest free show on earth, the Pumpkin Show is a big festival filled with food, games, parades, and many other events. People come to see the wide variety of pumpkin displays and enjoy different pumpkin foods from pumpkin ice cream to pumpkin shredded chicken.

Molly Hirtzinger, a student at Wilmington College, stated, “I really enjoy the pumpkin show; it’s a tradition for the volleyball team to attend every year. We enjoy the big pumpkins and the different pumpkin foods.”

The pumpkin show annually has an attendance of over 300,000 people in four days.

Patricia McRay, a local resident, stated, “The pumpkin show is more than just a fair; it is history. People come from all over the world to a small community to enjoy a part of the fall festival.”

The festival is a celebration for the fall season that has a wide variety of activities to do for a family, including enjoying the different types of food, rides, parades, and pumpkin displays. The show has been around since 1904 and still is recognized for the number of visitors it attracts each year.
