Shown: the 2017 Mud Volleyball Champions, “The Banana Slugs”

On your way to eat at the T.O.P. over the next couple of weeks, you will probably run into some familiar faces tabling in the Pyle Lobby. Of those familiar faces, you are sure to see the students involved in the Student Alumni Association (SAA) marketing a very familiar event for many students during Homecoming Week – the annual “Mud Volleyball Tournament.”

The Mud Volleyball Tournament hosted by SAA was started on campus with the intentions of creating an event that was almost entirely student-driven during Homecoming festivities, as well as giving. When asked about why SAA loves doing the Mud Volleyball Tournament, President Mathew Perry said, “It’s just a relaxing way to have some fun, while also giving people a chance to play in mud without any weird looks.”

The 2018 Mud Volleyball Tournament will surely be the main event on campus on Thursday, September 20 at 4:30pm behind the Center for Sport Sciences. There will be prizes for the winning and best dressed teams, as well as free pizza and hot chocolate for anyone in attendance. Roster sheets are available to enter teams in the Mud Volleyball Tournament during meals at the SAA table in Pyle lobby.
