10.) Ohio Caverns

Ohio Caverns is located in West Liberty, Ohio. It is one and a half hours away from campus. Here you can enjoy guided tours of one of Ohio’s most beautiful areas (even though it is underground). It is a great place to picnic and enjoy time with your family. Plus, the cavern is 54 degrees all year around so you enjoy a cool hour underground.

9.) Cedar Point

Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio. This awesome amusement park is about three hours away from campus. It is a great place to go with friends and for a relatively low cost you get to enjoy one of Ohio’s most sought after attractions. Another bonus to Cedar Point is staying at their hotel where you can get hour early admission into the park the next day, which means riding the rides before everyone else.

8.) Young’s Dairy

Young’s Dairy is located in Yellow Springs, Ohio. A short 40-minute drive from campus. Young’s has a multitude of activities to enjoy from batting cages, a petting zoo, and two mini golf courses. The Dairy obviously includes ice cream (many more flavors than UDF) and you can also enjoy the restaurant. With a new event on the calendar everyday it is always exciting.

7.) Put-In-Bay

Put in Bay is located about four hours away from campus, an extra hour north of Sandusky. The tiny island is dotted with history and beautiful scenery. There is something for everyone in the family: history, fishing, shopping, and much more. It is a great place for your “island getaway.”

6.) The Wilds

The Wilds is found in Cumberland, Ohio. It is about two hours away from campus. At The Wilds, you can enjoy a two-hour tour in an open-air vehicle, of rhinos, giraffes, and other endangered species in a natural setting. Here you can also enjoy bird watching and a butterfly habitat.

5.) Columbus Zoo

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is located an hour away from campus. At the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, you can enjoy up to 10,000 different kinds of animals, including animals from: Australia, The Congo, the shores, Asia, North America, and Africa. They also offer animal shows at no additional cost.

4.) COSI

COSI is also located in Columbus, Ohio, a little under an hour away from campus. Here, you can let your inner science nerd roam free. At COSI you can enjoy doing science labs guided by an instructor and a small theme park. Also, there are many exhibits to enjoy such as: Gadgets, Life, Ocean, Progress, and the Planetarium.

3.) Hocking Hills

Hocking Hills is located in Logan, Ohio just an hour and a half away from campus. At Hocking Hills, you can enjoy hiking, star gazing, bird watching and a multitude of other events. The state parks encompasses waterfalls, cliffs, caves, and miles of beautiful forest.

2.) Cleveland Botanical Garden

The beautiful botanical gardens are located three hours away from campus. It features 20 different gardens with many lush colors and uncommon plants. There are activities for everyone including a romantic walk for couples and activities for kids to enjoy.

1) Mansfield Reformatory

The Mansfield Reformatory is a historic correctional institute located two hours away from campus. You can enjoy a guided or self-guided tours each about an hour and a half long. You can learn about the history of the prison and even all the pop culture events that have taken place such as The Shawshank Redemption and a Lil’ Wayne music video. and a Lil’ Wayne music video. You can enjoy weekend events such as Ink in the Clink where you can get a tattoo, enjoy live bands, and a guided tour.
