With the chilly weather hopefully nearing its end, and the springtime approaching in the next month, people are preparing for outdoor activities in which to participate.  A chance is here to get some exercise and fresh air with family and friends.  For runners and non-runners alike, register now for the One Way 5K Run/Walk & Kid Run.

Race day is on March 15, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. with the Kid’s Run beginning at 10:30 a.m.  The One Way 5K began at Lebanon Christian School to raise funds for the PTF, providing enrichment programs for all the children preschool through 8th grade who attend the school, as well as supporting the needs of the teachers.  LCS, a private school in Lebanon, Ohio located about 35 minutes from Wilmington College off of I-71 South and down the street from Ralph J. Stolle’s YMCA, has been hosting the 5K for three years.  Their mission includes a Christ-centered education, with a strong importance on families and connecting with the community, values also held important by the WC family.  Wilmington College has been one of the official sponsors for the last two years of the 5K, and may continue to be this year.  Students and parents from Lebanon Christian School are among Wilmington College’s current students and alumni.

The race will start and end at LCS’s main campus address 1436 Deerfield Rd. Lebanon, OH 45036. It is a stroller-friendly course.  Included in the event are vendor booths, a bounce house, face painting, and food that is delicious and healthy.  But what is any festivity without Kona Ice, prizes, and a clown for entertainment.  According to some LCS moms about previous One Way 5k experiences, it has been a very beneficial experience.  Mary shared her thoughts when saying, “I enjoyed the race, and the fact that there’s something here for the whole family.”  Karen, another LCS mother, said, “Registration was very organized…. I loved all of the vendor booths and kids’ activities.”

More race details can be found online along with the registration form, which can be sent in online or through mail-in.  To register, go to www.Speedy-feet.com.  For more information about Lebanon Christian School, visit lebanonchristianschool.org.
