Operation: Professional Development Day

Career Services was once something hidden in College Hall. Now, though, it’s right in the middle of Pyle, and right in the middle of changes. They have made leaps and bounds in the right direction – making job postings and internship postings readily available online, and creating more resources for students to create the perfect resume and cover letter.

Many might remember out Career Fair, which was, undeniably, a success. What’s next on their list? A Professional Development Day. On October 21st, a panel of 5 professionals from different fields will gather in McCoy room to take some of the mystery out of what employers look for and how much snooping they do. Opportunities like this don’t come often, and it’s clear the folks in the office are hard at work.

Here’s the best part. The questions will be from the students. If there’s anything you’d like to know, simply like the Career Services page on Facebook and comment under the post. Or, if that’s too much, just walk by the office and suggest some to Tammy Fraser, director, or one of the student assistants.

It’s hard to imagine how much Career Services has changed over the course of a few months, but they’re about helping the students and being available. If you have any suggestions, requests, or concerns, feel free to contact Tammy Fraser, either by phone, by email, or by stopping in.
