Sometimes It’s Okay to Skip

Post by relatedRelated post

Two weeks ago, I did something that I’m entirely against… skipping class and showing up late to work. I have skipped four classes in my two years as a student at WC. I have never understood the students who can skip class after class in good conscience. However, I concluded that skipping would not kill me, and I went to a concert in Columbus instead. I realized taking time for myself and interacting with my world outside of academics was just as important.

Tuesday, March 27 I went to see Yung Pinch at Newport Music Hall in Columbus. I had way more fun than I would have in class and got to experience a type of music that I typically do not listen to. It was definitely an experience I wouldn’t have done on my own and an event worth skipping for. I’m still passing my class, so I guess it turned out okay.

March 29, I decided to come into work an hour late (after getting someone to cover me) and go out to lunch. Going to Skyline for an hour with some good company I was able to clear my head and realize the more important aspects of life. I might wish I had the $8 I would’ve made while at work, but I’ll be glad I have another memory to hold on to.
