Wilmington College’s Run for Congo Women

Maraya Wahl Staff Writer      On the rainy morning of October 19, a group of students and faculty participated in the Run for Congo 5K that occurred on the Wilmington College campus.  At 10 a.m., men and women ready to run met at the lower soccer field behind the YMCA and Hermann Court/Fred Raisk Arena.  The path was carved out because of a cross-country meet that had taken place the day prior.  The group was determined to participate in the cause for the women of the Congo despite the weather.     …

Sweethearts make big smiles with 5k for kids

Ganger Staff Writer   On Saturday March 16, children from the Little Hearts Big Smiles organization were welcomed onto the Wilmington College campus for the fourth annual 5k walk/run, sponsored by the Phi Alpha Psi Sweethearts. The Little Hearts Big Smiles organization was created in 2006 as a support group for families that have special needs. “We have been working with the Sweethearts for around four years,” said Holly Batton, co-founder of the Little Hearts Big Smiles organization.
