Taking Extra Steps to Make Students Feel Safer and Empowered

Post by relatedRelated post

There was a self-defense class on April 24 from 5-7 in the QRC gym.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Wilmington College has been hosting various events to spread awareness on the topic. In today’s society, it is beneficial to know how to defend yourself against an attacker.

Karmiela White said, “I felt like sexual assault awareness month was a really great time to put on this event. The problem starts with the perpetrator obviously, but it is nice to have tools under your belt in case you are ever in danger.”

There was also pizza and drinks for all of the participants afterward.
