The Wilmington College Chorale has always been a group that is small in number, but mighty in sound. Although having a small group of singers was an incredible experience, the choir began expressing a need for more members, especially men. This need has been fulfilled, with over 20 members this semester.
Brandi James, a senior at Wilmington College, says, “Over these past few years, I’ve gotten accustomed to having a small choir family, but it’s a new year and a new day! Change is good! I’m super excited for all the new editions this year and I can’t wait to perform with them for my last year here at WC.”
It was extremely important for the group to have more singers, so they began by posting on the Wilmington college app, sharing with friends and new students, and setting tables at events including the Org Fair and Summer and Fall Orientation. These efforts led to about thirty students interested in singing in the college’s chorale.
One choir member says, “It was a major shock walking in on the first day after only having ten students the following year, and seeing the entire choir room filled. It was both exciting and nerve racking!”
The students, both returning and new, are extremely excited to start singing for the Christmas concert.
Lexi Mahaffa, a junior at Wilmington College, says, “I’m super excited to enlarge our music family! I can’t wait to get to know the new people and perform with some amazing new voices!”

Angela Hutsenpiller, a senior at Wilmington says, “I’ve always been passionate about music and I have been wanting to grow my voice for a while, but never had the opportunity. Because it’s my senior year, I decided to take a risk and do something fun instead of only taking required classes, so I joined choir!”
For those that are interested, chorale meets every Monday and Tuesday from 5:30-7. Everyone is welcome!
